Thanks again for kibotzer and Melanie for all of the tips and encouragement. I weighed myself daily beforehand but having kibotzer to visually see things and knowing that someone else would see the graph/Melanie's encouragement was great!

The bot is quite motivating. I enjoy replying to the bot and seeing my graph right away. Looks like I have to keep running to keep the bot happy.

I lost 14 lbs in 3 1/2 months!

I worked my way up to 50 pushups.

It's funny, somehow looking at the [yellow brick] road makes me feel better. That road thing
is really something.

Kibotzer makes weight loss easier, or at least seem easier. For example, it lets you build up a "safety buffer" and then coast on it during special splurge occasions -- something that would totally backfire if you tried it without the guidance of the Yellow Brick Road.
-- Danny
The road has a way of focusing you in on the small steps you take and how much they mean to the big picture success while simultaneously showing you the big picture so you don't get bogged down with a not-so-favorite scale number one day. It's amazingly motivating and positive-focus shifting!
-- Melanie
With just a scale it's very difficult, discouraging, and uncertain as you go along. I think if one has to rely on just a scale they should not weigh at all and just go by how their clothes fit. But we've all tried that too, haven't we? So I do indeed like kibotzer! And I love the instant response with the graph.

I used to spend too much time creating workout schedules that I realize now was a great way to procrastinate. With kibotzer, I naturally fell into taking it day by day. There was no time to make elaborate schedules, only time to think about healthy eating, get on the treadmill, or pop in that workout video! I had a [yellow brick] road to be on the next day!
-- Melanie
The up and down process of weight loss used to be derailing and demotivating ... I'd end up convincing myself that I must not be doing enough when I had a random "up" day or two. (Even as a certified/degreed personal trainer just trying to lose some baby weight, that scale still messes with your head). With the graph and especially the optimistic rose-colored dots, I come away still feeling optimistic about my actions and it makes me want to keep them up!
